Life As A Welcoming Church

YOU ARE WELCOME AT LIVING WATERS!!! Yes- YOU!!!
One of the things which both newcomers and long-time members of Living Waters often mention as a “strength” of this congregation is the “warm” and “welcoming” nature of this body of Christ. That is a wonderful reflection on who we are!

Just as individuals need to seek to deepen their own strengths, congregations, too, need to continue to focus on the things they do well, and to endeavor to do them better.

Towards this end, here’s a challenge for EACH AND EVERY MEMBER of EVERY AGE: Try to introduce yourself to someone new each time you are at Living Waters. Go out of your way to find someone you haven’t met before, and tell them “hello”, and introduce yourself. If you notice that the greeters or ushers are running late, or if you see someone who hasn’t been welcomed, appoint yourself as an ambassador of Christ’s love, and bring a word of warmth and welcome to all!

Greeting others is just as important after worship as it is before worship. So here’s another challenge: if you are a greeter, please greet AFTER services as well as BEFORE, seeking out those people who you might have missed before worship, and looking especially for the newer faces among us.

As we continue to make conscious efforts to live out our lives together as a welcoming church, we will all benefit from the love we share, grounded in the love which God has for us.

Thank you!!
