Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I am SO excited about what God is doing here at Living Waters!!! Thanks be to God, this congregation is healthy and vibrant, and filled with the blessings of God. One of the amazing signs of God’s work in our life together here is in the formation of a new ministry team, being led by Moni Slatten. This group, called the “Spiritual Well-being Team”, will be working together throughout the life of the congregation, helping all of us focus on the many different aspects of our lives as children of God and disciples of Christ, and focusing our attention on our stewardship in every area of our lives. Using the “Wholeness Wheel” produced by the ELCA Board of Pensions as a “jumping off” point, we at Living Waters will focus each month on a different area of our life as disciples, seeking to achieve a conscious balance of life and wholeness, or “spiritual well-being”. In the month of September, we will undertake an overview of Spiritual Well-Being . This will be our beginning point for exploring the whole concept of “wholistic discipleship” which we will develop as we live more fully into this process. You will see the Wholeness Wheel in your bulletins and here in the newsletter, as well as in our other communications, as well. As we begin this process of exploration and faith deepening together, please spend some time thinking about the “wholeness wheel” and how it can aid you in your life as a disciple. As a part of this, I encourage you to participate as fully as you possibly can in the life of the parish. Each month, we will have a number of ways in which you can learn more about that month’s “spiritual well-being” focus, and the more you’re active here, the more this will have an impact on your life and your faith. Praise be to God, there is a lot happening around here, and ample opportunity to get involved. Please do so. Do not be shy. Each of us, as disciples of the most high God, can learn and grow more in our lives of faith. Through our worship, Bible or book studies, classes or service projects, giving and fellowship, we can learn to live into the wholeness God desires for us. I am excited about doing this with all of you. Thanks for the opportunity to serve God with you!! In Christ, Pastor Kathryn
