So it's March and for many of you that means a tax refund might be coming your way. Some of you might be getting a bonus for the previous year.
If you find yourself in either situation, I would like to recommend you try tithing. Just once. Try tithing your unexpected "windfall". This is a low-risk way for you to find out how tithing impacts your life. Try it! You just might like it!
I would now like to ask you how much Living Waters budget would be if everyone tithed. There are about 100 active giving "units" at Living Waters right now. Let's take the median 2008 household income for our zip code - (according to http://www.city-data.com/zips/55014.html) about $78,857.
$78,857 x 100 = $7,885,700. If all the current active givers gave 10%, Living Waters would have an annual budget of $788,570. That would be over $500,000 annual increase! And that's without any growth in new members or even all our members currently listed in our directory contributing. Consider the ministry work we can do with that type of budget!
You see abundance is all around us. Everything we need we already have (or God will soon provide). Giving 10% of your income is an act of faith.
The last few years, we've asked the question - What % is God calling you to give? Please prayerfully consider this question.
Please try tithing your federal tax refund, if you get one this year. Consider if we all gave 10% of this....100 families x $1000 average refund x 10% = $9,000.
What if everyone tried tithing? Just once. Imagine the impact on Living Waters. Imagine the impact on your life!
